The response to this project has been overwhelming. We are so overcome with emotion at being able to do this for people and our hearts are going to burst. For those who don't already know, we gave these sanitizing sprays to a local home visiting nurse to hand out to high risk patients. We have now given so many out and will continue to do so until we run out of money or supplies. Every purchase will be going into keeping this project alive and also any donations we receive. If you know of any essential workers that need a pick me up, or anyone in need, please reach out. We will be sending out four care packages a week to essential workers free of charge. Each package has a sanitizing spray and our Clearing Calendula Cream for your overwashed hands. Anyone in need of sanitizing spray can get theirs for free or donation as well. To donate you can Venmo @Nicole-Buttermore-2 or email us at PickleJarApothecary@Gmail.com
Stay safe, be well, and let's all keep taking care of each other.

Run out of milk or almond milk? Oat milk is cheap and easy to make, better for the environment, and really tasty.
Pulse in a blender or food processor for 45 seconds:
1 cup of rolled oats
4 cups water
Strain with cheese cloth or an old, clean T-shirt.
I personally love it in my morning coffee
3 1/2 cups water
2/3 cup dried or fresh elderberries
2 tbsp dried or fresh ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 ground clove
1 cup raw honey (local is best)
Peel and grate ginger if using fresh.
Add all ingredients, except the honey, to a medium sauce pan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and cover, leaving lid ajar to let steam escape for about 45 minutes, reducing liquid by about half.
Strain the liquid into a glass bowl or measuring cup.
Cool to luke warm and then mix in 1 cup of honey.
*You don't want to get the honey too hot or it will lose its beneficial qualities*
Elderberry syrup has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-viral qualities. It's also high in vitamins A and C and has been used to help treat the symptoms of colds and the flu. This should NEVER be used in place of medical treatment, but it is a wonderful option to increase immunity and treat mild symptoms. Stay home. <3
